Strong turnout in Knutsford for our Inheritance Tax seminar

Last week we hosted our first Inheritance Tax seminar at Cottons Hotel in Knutsford. The response is overwhelmingly positive.

Business owners and members of the local community came to hear from our panel of experts. Inheritance Tax (IHT) is affecting more families than ever. And recent rule changes have only increased the need for clear, practical advice.

Clarity on a complex subject

The morning featured three expert speakers:

• Steven Hilditch — Chartered Financial Planning Director, Sedulo Wealth
• Jose Vilchez — Chartered Financial Planner, Sedulo Wealth
• Julie Burgess — Partner, Gorvins Solicitors

Our speakers began with an explanation of Inheritance Tax, outlined the latest changes, and shared strategies to help protect estates. The session also cleared up common misconceptions that often catch families out. Attendees then had the chance to ask their own questions in a lively Q&A.

Julie specialises in wills, trusts and probate, with particular expertise in complex and high-value estates. As a member of both STEP and Solicitors for the Elderly, she brings deep knowledge and practical insight to inheritance planning. Her perspective added real depth to the discussion, and we’re grateful to Gorvins for supporting the event.

Community engagement

The seminar was not only about tax rules. It was also a chance to meet advisers face-to-face in a relaxed setting. Over tea, coffee, and biscuits, people shared their concerns and left with a stronger sense of clarity.
