Research carried out by Legal & General in 2011 found that 95% of businesses had at least one key individual, and 53% said they would stop trading after the death of a key person.

Key Person Cover is a type of protection cover set up to provide a lump sum (or regular payment) in the event of a key person suffering a serious illness, being unable to work for a length of time, or upon death. Relevant Life Policies suit owner-managed businesses, company directors, and other employees who might want high levels of life cover but with the tax and other benefits associated with large group death-in-service schemes.

  • Businesses have to few eligible employees to warrant a group life scheme
  • Owners and directors that want tax-efficient life cover that’s four times their salary
